In their most recent roster move, the 49ers released an ex-Cowboys first-round pick.

Dallas handed Lance a fourth-round pick in 2024, a long cry from the three first-round picks the 49ers gave up for No. 3 in 2021

According to Jonathan Adams of Heavy Sports, Lance is excited for a change.

“Kyle [Shanahan] and I, when we broke the news to him today, saw him [Lance] light up a little bit, and he loves it here,” 49ers GM John Lynch told reporters on August 26. sports reporter Evan Reier covers the Cowboys and 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers are reducing their roster to 53 players, including cutting a former Dallas Cowboys first-round choice.

Taco Charlton hasn't lived up to his draft billing in six seasons, and it may be a while before he gets another shot.

According to Mike Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, San Francisco released the 28-year-old defensive tackle on August 27 after nine days on injured reserve.

Since their divorce in Charlton's third year in the league, the Cowboys and Charlton have traded barbs, making a reunion implausible.
